Title: Cammino Sublime
Dimensions: 2 x 2 x 4 m
Description:
Shoes, as a symbol of human individuality, are connected to the transcendent higher condition by sound strings, conductors of emotions and memories, as well as instruments of purifying reflection.
Their soles are painted red to suggest the vitality and fertility of inner desire, which sustains man in the mystical journey, daily undertaken to abandon earthly barrenness, harsh as salt, bitter as tears and incapable of bearing fruit, but at the same time a stimulus of true knowledge, toward the dimension of beauty and spiritual purity.
Human evolution can be represented as an ascending spiral, in the centre of which lies the intimate identity of one’s spirituality.
By its very nature, man’s spirituality tends towards the improvement of the common existential condition and is animated by the constant search for perfection and the desire to achieve it.
Awareness of the projection of this collective unconscious impulse leads each individual to a model of behaviour tending towards the sublime.
But the attainment of this higher state cannot be separated from the humility that comes from the awareness of the existence of suffering that permeates daily experience.
Wisdom acquired through knowledge and asceticism, from which vanity is completely estranged, leads humans through the necessary passage of the unknown and emptiness, and then brings them to the invoked condition of a new balance, which reconciles them with the whole in a relationship of intimate affinity and absolute compassion between their conscious identity and the universe.
