Camilla Cerioni (1994 Ancona, Italy)
Cerioni’s works are interdisciplinary using sensory perceptions, starting from the abstraction of sonic languages where body movement, images and music are interconnected and mutually contingent. She is fascinated by the contrast of different Nordic and Mediterranean sensibilities where different strengths of nature and powerful expressions are manifested.
She showed her works in Finland (workshop residence, Saimaan Amk Kuvataide University, Imatra 2018), in Portugal (Conference Proceedings — European Encounter of Erasmus Partner Faculties, Porto 2018) and in Lithuania (study mobility – Vilniaus dailės akademija, 2020).
She participated and performed in several exhibitions in Italy, including her solo in Ancona (AN) “Reflection”(2022) and in Castelnuovo Rangone (MO) “PA.CE con Chiesi: Le dimensioni della pittura.”(2022), with the painter Andrea Chiesi.
She has recently finished her Master in Fine Arts in Listaháskóli Íslands – Iceland University of the Arts | Reykjavík, Iceland (June 2024).
In Iceland She performed at Plan B Festival, Borgarnes (2021), at Rýmd, Reykjavík (2022), at Flak in Patreksfjörður (2023) and with the experimental sound lab “Skerpla” at The Dark Music Days Festival, Reykjavík (2024), at The Reykjavík Arts Festival, Reykjavík (2024) in The Living Art Museum thanks to Listaháskóli Íslands, Reykjavík (2024) and in the United Kingdom at Glasgow University Chapel with Across the Waters – XXIX International James Joyce Symposium, Glasgow (2024).
As art intern in The Factory – Djúpavík Herring Factory, Djúpavík, Iceland she helped and gave suggestions for the installation to the curator and to the artists (25 May 2023 – 11 June 2023); she was gallery intern at Nýlistasafnið – Living Art Museum | Reykjavík, Iceland (31 Dec 2021 – 23 March 2022); she was a studio assistant for the artist Katrín Inga Jónsdóttir Hjördísardóttir – Art Studio Phenomenon Reykjavík, Iceland, an important center of artists and artistic culture in the city, (22 Jul 2021 – 22 Dec 2021).
She achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Painting – Visual Art was from Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata, Macerata, Italy (2017 – Jul 2021) and she had a study mobility in Vilniaus dailės akademija – Vilnius Academy of Arts, Vilnius, Lithuania (Feb 2020 – Jun 2020).
She participated in the artistic residency “RAMO – Ritratto a Mano” curated by Giuliana Benassi and organised by the artist Giuseppe Pietroniro and the curator Giuliana Benassi, Caramanico Terme, Pescara, Italy (July 2019).
She studied jazz singing – Preaccademic at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “G.B. Pergolesi” di Fermo, Fermo, Italy (2018 – 2019) and classical double bass – Preaccademic at the same Conservatorio in Fermo, Italy (2014-2018). She achieved the Multimedia art – Experimental Painting Section at the Istituto Statale d’Arte Edgardo Mannucci Ancona, Ancona, Italy (2011 – 2014).
